all things are possible with God!
April 2010
We have had a quiet few months at home as we adjust to one less little one sharing our home. Much of our free time has been spent cleaning up the yard and going through boxes of items that was in storage for my Mother-in-Law. You would not believe how much we have managed to clear out .. but there is so much more still left to sort. Slowly we are taking back areas of our home that have been stacked with these boxes.
Spring break came at the end of March for our oldest foster daughter. Although she spent most days doing activities with her friends from daycare, we did manage one family day outing to the Forks where we enjoyed watching Inch the Clown and she got her face painted with a beautiful butterfly. Definitely need to have a whole lot more of these, yet another reason to look forward to summer.
This month we celebrated my granddaughter's 18th birthday. Hard to believe I have a granddaughter that old. :) Jess spent her actual birthday travelling home from France and managed to go to three countries that day, France, Germany and home to Canada. A week later she had a birthday party in our backyard (it was cold out but she was determined to see it through). There must have been more than 20 kids (17 and over) sitting around the fire pit, enjoying smokies, hamburgers, chips, and whatever else they had out there. At one point they even set off fireworks, although that was probably not such a good idea, there were no serious problems. Around 2 a.m. the last few were wrapped in blankets still at the fire and eventually 5 girls slept over. Yes, they did come in to sleep, although the original plan was to set up tents and sleep outside. I have to say for all the people the mess was not that bad. They had cleaned up pretty good before sleeping. Although they didn't think about picking up bottle caps, or about leaving candies outside for the dogs to get into. But all in all there was little left to clean up in the morning.
Hope everybody reading this is enjoying spring and, like us, looking forward to a summer with much less rain than last year.
Blessings,
Mary
